Reclaiming Q: a common view for Q

Welcome!

Growing up, I was always referred to in school as "Sarah Q" due to the sheer number of other "Sarah's" or "Sara's" amongst my classmates. As a little girl, I hated the Q. As I got a bit older, I began to embrace the Q. My name became "sarahQ" and then, simply "Q". I began dating a man in 2006, who was threatened by my past and the "Q" nickname that went along with it. Even before we got married, he requested that I ask all my friends to call me "Sarah" and "Sarah" only. I acquiesced to maintain the peace in our home, and that was one of the many mistakes I've made. I started writing this blog after I left him, and decided to pursue the divorce, figuring it was time for me to "Reclaim my Q". The divorce was legally finalized on August 5, 2010 and my "Q" is once again a common name my friends know me by. Personal growth and self-discovery have far from ended, however, so I hope you'll enjoy reading about this journey as much as I enjoy living it and writing about it!
